Lumino Dark Mode for WordPress
Give your visitors the dark mode experience they expect — with a single click. Lumino adds a beautiful floating toggle button to your WordPress site that works with every theme, requires zero coding, and remembers each visitor’s preference automatically.

What Is Lumino Dark Mode?
Lumino Dark Mode is a free WordPress plugin that adds a floating dark/light mode toggle button to your website. It uses a CSS filter technique (invert + hue-rotate) applied to the entire page — meaning it works with any WordPress theme without touching your theme files. Images and videos are automatically re-corrected so they always look natural in both modes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with all WordPress themes?
Yes. Lumino applies a CSS filter to the entire html element which affects every part of the page regardless of your theme's structure. It works with all themes including page builders.
Will images look inverted in dark mode?
No. Images, videos, iframes, and canvas elements are automatically re-inverted so they always display in their original colors in both modes.
My site is already dark — will it work correctly?
Yes. Lumino auto-detects your site's base theme. If your site is already dark, the toggle will switch to light mode instead of making it darker. You can also force the detection in Advanced Settings.
How is each visitor's preference saved?
The preference is saved in the browser's localStorage so it persists across all pages and sessions without needing cookies or a server-side database.
Will it slow down my website?
No. Lumino loads one small CSS file and one small JS file — pure vanilla JavaScript with zero external dependencies.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free and open source under GPLv2. No premium version, no upsells.
Can I control the toggle position?
Yes. Go to Lumino Dark Mode settings and choose Bottom-Right, Bottom-Left, Top-Right, or Top-Left — plus exact pixel offsets from each edge.
